Safe Parenting Training Program and Booklet has been developed for parents, foster parents and case managers and other court and health care professionals working with children who have sexually acting out behaviors. The training program presents the following topics and offers participants an opportunity to ask questions and participate in activities designed to increase their skills in:
Understanding sexual abuse and trauma
Differentiating between normal and abnormal sexual behavior and understanding the warning signs of abnormal sexual behavior
What to do when sexual abuse happens – responding to sexualized behaviors
Understanding treatment goals for sexually reactive young children, sexual abuse victims and sexually acting out adolescents
Safety planning, supervision and risk issues
